Tuition
My three main focuses, and my honest limits.
Entrance exam preparation
This is my speciality. I prepare children for the 7+, 8+, 9+, 11+, 13+, occasional place exams, and scholarship papers at London's most selective independents and the UK's most prestigious boarding schools.
When to start
I advise commencing preparation twelve to eighteen months before the exam, although last-minute prep is better than none.
How I work
We start with an assessment, then I formulate a plan for that student, progressing to exam technique for both pretests and written papers.
Format
One or two hour lessons, weekly or more frequently, in person or on Zoom. Small groups or 2-to-1 by arrangement.
Nick took everything in hand, he knew after the first two lessons where M was and Nick put together an entire road map how to raise the bar in Math and English to the needed level.
Subject support & home education
Extra help for students in full-time education or full-time teaching for students who are home-schooled.
English up to KS3; Maths and science through KS3 and GCSE; maths and biology at A Level; essay work and dissertation supervision at university level. Several of my longest-standing students have been home-educated for various reasons, and I have much experience supporting dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, autism and selective mutism. My lessons always adapt to the child, and not the other way round.

University admissions
For applicants who want their application to sound like them at their best.
University selection and planning, personal statements, and mock interviews. I studied Medicine for four years at UCL, and so medical admissions are my speciality, although this is no longer a core focus of my practice.

How it starts
We start with a fifteen minute call to discuss target schools, timeline, and whether I have space. Then, the first lesson is an assessment of your child’s ability and whether I am best placed to help. Either way, you’ll receive my notes from the session.
If we continue, I implement a plan of action, identifying gaps and adapting with the student. If you have a weekly slot, it remains yours, and I’m always available afterwards for feedback in person or by voice note.
If what you’re looking for isn’t described on this page, do still reach out: I may be able to accommodate or, failing that, recommend a spectacular tutor.
